Grant Wood Scenic Byway

The Iowa Department of Transportation requested the assistance of RC&D’s in Iowa to serve as leaders of the state’s scenic byways and provides funds to RC&Ds through the Iowa Byway Sustainability Project.  Limestone Bluffs RC&D is serving as the lead entity to build the capacity of the Grant Wood Scenic Byway in Jackson and Jones Counties.  Stakeholders and byway councils have been established, new signage has been created, a website developed, brochures printed for tourists and work continues on the development of a corridor management plan.
